| Specialty | (i) study of the synthetic technology for advanced materials (II-VI QDs: CdS, CdSe, CdTe and their core/shell structures; III-V QDs: InP, GaP doped/non-doped with RE ions (Eu, Tb, Tm); and Cu-based photocatalysts: CuS(Se)/ZnS, CuO/ZnO, CuO/TiO2). My special interests are paid to the nano-sized and quantum structured materials both in the type-I and the type-II core/shell quantum structures for various applications in biolabeling, photocatalysis and solar cells; (ii) study on the optical properties of the mentioned materials by using different spectroscopic techniques such as absorption, PL spectroscopies as functions of temperature and excitation power density, of time elapsed from the excitation moment to study various physical processes related to the charge carriers (electrons and holes) in QDs generated by photoexcitation, to study mechanisms for high-efficiency luminescence in QDs/nanocrystals of II-VI, III-V semiconductors doped/non-doped with RE ions. |
